Since making her debut on the WWE main roster, Alexa Bliss has cemented her place as a top performer in the Women’s Division. She has held the RAW and Smackdown Women’s Championships, and has wrestled at the past two WrestleMania’s. Despite all of her success, there is probably a lot you don’t know about Alexa Bliss, and here are 11 things you may not know about her.
1. Her real name is Alexis Kaufman.
While her birth name is Alexis, but she goes by Lexi. She was born on August 9, 1991 in Columbus, Ohio. Growing up Bliss competed in softball, kickboxing, track, and gymnastics.
2. Prior to joining the WWE, Bliss competed as a bodybuilder.
Alexa Bliss spent several years as a professional body builder, and even competed in the Arnold Classic. At the age of 15, Bliss suffered from an eating disorder, and she has credited bodybuilding as her way to fight through it.
3. In 2017, Pro Wrestling Illustrated rated her third on their PWI Female 50 list.
Only Charlotte Flair and Asuka rated ahead of her on the list. In the WWE, she ranked ahead of Bayley, Sasha Banks, Naomi, and Natalya all of whom were rated in the top 10 on the list. In 2016, Bliss was ranked 29th on the list.
4. Bliss was a cheerleader in college.
Bliss attended the University of Akron, and was a cheerleader for the school. She took cheerleading very seriously and once said, “When I competed in cheerleading, I took part in every division that I could. I did individual, duo, team, stunt, tumble. I wanted to see how far I could push myself and rank myself against other people.”
5. Alexa Bliss is a big fan of cosplay.
For those who are unfamiliar, cosplay is when someone dresses up like a character from a movie, television show, video game, or comic book. Bliss has displayed some memorable looks in her time with the WWE which have been inspired by her love of cosplay. She has worn ring attire inspired by Harley Quinn, Iron Man, Supergirl, Chucky, The Riddler, and Freddy Krueger.
6. Alexa Bliss is engaged to Buddy Murphy.
Bliss and Murphy, real name Matthew Adams, have been together for several years and are now engaged to be married. NXT fans may remember that Bliss managed Murphy for awhile while he was teaming with Wesley Blake.
7. Her television debut with the WWE was at WrestleMania 30.
Bliss made her WWE main roster debut 2 years prior to being called up to the WWE main roster. Yes, I know that doesn’t make any sense. Bliss, alongside Charlotte and Sasha Banks, played a role in Triple H’s entrance for his match against Daniel Bryan.
8. Bliss’ parents were told she only had 24 hours to live.
Earlier in this list I mentioned that Alexa Bliss suffered from an eating disorder when she was 15. What I did not mention is just how serious it was. The disorder got so bad that at one point her parents took her to the hospital to get checked out. To get Bliss to come with them they actually told her they were going to church, not the hospital.
Upon arriving, the doctors informed her parents they feared she was not far away from dying, and the doctors made the decision to keep her in-house and help her work through her disorder.
9. Her first televised match was against Alicia Fox.
Alexa Bliss faced off against Alicia Fox on May 8, 2014 during an episode of NXT. The match was part of a tournament to crown a new NXT Women’s Champion. Bliss won the match, but lost the following week to Charlotte. Upon her debut, Bliss had a very different gimmick then the one fans know today, she was a fairy.
10. Alexa Bliss recently received a breast enhancement.
It was recently revealed that Bliss had surgery after WrestleMania 34 to get a breast enhancement. Bliss has not spoke about it publicly, but she did post the following picture on her Twitter account recently.

11. Alexa Bliss comes from a very musical family
In addition to being a beast inside the ring, she can belt out some tunes as well. Bliss’ grandfather was a country singer and at one time had a top 40 country hit. “Everyone in our family can sing,” said Bliss. “I love to sing country music and I have performed on local shows.”
